Canal Brasil series ‘Delegado’ to premiere at Brasília Film Festival

The Canal Brasil series ‘Delegado’ is set to premiere at the Festival de Brasília do Cinema Brasileiro. The debut will include a public screening of three episodes on September 12 at Cine Brasília, followed by a press conference on September 13.

Set in Recife, the seven-episode series follows Felipe, a middle-class young man who joins the Civil Police driven by ideals of justice. He soon encounters an institution struggling with precariousness, corruption, and resistance to change, all while navigating the rise of new drug trafficking leadership and personal family issues.

Directed by Leonardo Lacca and Marcelo Lordello, and produced by Emilie Lesclaux and Kleber Mendonça Filho, the production aims to explore the daily life of the Civil Police in Northeast Brazil through a lens of social criticism and local humor. Following its festival run, the series will premiere on Canal Brasil on October 30 and will be available on Globoplay shortly after.
