Polish commentators report harassment during match in Zenica
Polish sports commentators Jacek Laskowski and Robert Podoliński reported experiencing significant harassment and verbal abuse during a match in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to Podoliński, an unidentified man, potentially associated with the local football association, attempted to forcibly remove them from their commentary positions shortly before kickoff, telling them, “This is my place. Get out of here.”
The situation reportedly escalated during the broadcast, with the individual allegedly standing behind the commentators and shouting insults throughout the 90-minute match. Podoliński noted that security presence added to the tension, making the duo feel as though they were being physically expelled.
In separate media discussions, Michał Kołodziejczyk, Director of Canal+ Sport, addressed various organizational matters. He took full responsibility for recent personnel changes at the station, including the departures of commentators Kazimierz Węgrzyn, Rafał Wolski, and Wojciech Jagoda. Kołodziejczyk also commented on the popularity of different sports in Poland, noting that speedway (żużel) holds a massive, almost religious following in certain regions, often surpassing the viewership of the Ekstraklasa.
Additionally, Kołodziejczyk discussed the professional dynamics surrounding tennis star Iga Świątek and the role of her psychologist, Daria Abramowicz, suggesting that the separation from the outside world may contribute to Świątek’s high-level success.
