Canal Water Company implements warehouse coding in three Egyptian governorates
Ahmed Abdel Moneim Al-Tarras, Chairman of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Company for the Canal governorates, has announced the formation of specialized committees to implement a warehouse coding system in Suez, Ismailia, and Port Said.
The initiative aims to unify the rules for inventory, classification, and identification of items across all company warehouses in the three governorates. The committees will review and inventory existing items, classify them by nature and use, and create unique identification codes. This process includes auditing current coding systems, reconciling physical stock with ledger records, and building a unified, accurate database.
According to Al-Tarras, the project is designed to tighten inventory control, ensure data accuracy, and prevent duplicate entries. The system is expected to improve the tracking of additions, disposals, and transfers between warehouses, while enhancing integration between inventory and financial management systems. Furthermore, the improved data will support more efficient procurement planning and resource management.
