Canals: Three-year-old and mother injured in balcony fall

A three-year-old boy is in critical condition after falling from a first-floor balcony in Canals, Valencia. The incident occurred on Germanías Street when the child reportedly climbed onto a piece of furniture and lost his balance.

In an attempt to catch her son, his 27-year-old mother also fell from the balcony. She sustained fractures to both ankles and was transported to Lluís Alcanyís Hospital in Xàtiva. The child, suffering from multiple traumas, was airlifted by a SAMU medical team to La Fe Hospital for specialized care.

Local police are investigating the circumstances of the fall, which is currently being treated as an accident. The family, originally from Honduras, had moved into the residence approximately one month ago. The mayor of Canals, Nacho Mira, has offered assistance to the family.
