Canary Islands advances major road infrastructure projects

The Canary Islands government is pursuing significant infrastructure developments across its islands. In Tenerife, authorities are seeking 123 million euros to fund a road project between Icod de los Vinos and La Guancha. This segment is considered an essential piece for completing the northern Insular Ring, alongside the planned 600 million euro Tigaiga mega-tunnel. The project includes a five-kilometer variant of the TF-5 highway and a double-tube tunnel in Las Cucharas.

In Fuerteventura, the Ministry of Public Works has announced a temporary traffic diversion on the FV-3 road from August 11 to 13. This measure is necessary to facilitate construction work on the new Antigua link, part of a larger project to connect Puerto del Rosario, the FV-20, and the FV-1, FV-3, and FV-2 routes. The diversion will utilize a new service road near the hospital access roundabout to allow work to proceed during daytime hours.
