Canary Islands agricultural products receive regional and promotional recognition
The Canary Islands are seeing significant recognition for their agricultural products through recent awards and promotional events. In Madrid, the Fuerteventura Island Tourism Board organized the ‘Embarque a Fuerteventura’ initiative at the Official College of Architects of Madrid. This event showcased Queso Majorero, a goat cheese with Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) status, paired with local wines to promote the island's culinary identity to major markets.
In a separate development, the company Aloe Vera Internacional, based in Tuineje, has been awarded the title of Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil of the Canary Islands at the Agrocanarias competition. The company, which produces its Canary Oil brand using arbequina and hojiblanca varieties, was visited by regional agricultural officials to highlight the diversification and growth of olive oil production within the archipelago.
