Canary Islands ambulance staff stage protests demanding better wages and conditions

The CCOO Canary Islands federation has organized a series of public demonstrations by ambulance personnel to pressure the regional government for a new collective bargaining agreement. On Friday, 26 June, rallies are scheduled across several islands from 10:00 to 12:00, with priority media access at 11:00. A second gathering will take place on Tuesday, 30 June, at the Parliament of the Canary Islands in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, also from 10:00 to 12:00.

Protesters are calling for the removal of the current collective‑bargaining blockade, improved professional recognition, and “dignified” salaries for emergency medical technicians. Union representatives, including Enrique Espi and Francisco Carnicer, will be available for interviews during the events.
