Canary Islands award multi‑million euro contracts for Lanzarote library upgrade and Playa Blanca library

The Cabildo de Lanzarote has opened a tender to replace the climate‑control system of the Biblioteca Insular de Lanzarote. The project, budgeted at €832,022.81, will install high‑efficiency, automated HVAC equipment, renew ductwork and terminal units, and is slated for a four‑month execution with offers due by 13 August.

The Ayuntamiento de Yaiza, led by Mayor Óscar Noda, announced a separate tender for a new Biblioteca y Centro Sociocultural in Playa Blanca. The construction contract totals €3,945,230.10 for a 1,463‑m² building featuring reading rooms, an auditorium, a cafeteria and a solar photovoltaic installation for self‑consumption. The work is scheduled for twelve months, with bids closing on 24 August and award expected on 26 August.
