Canary Islands awards contract for affordable housing exchange

The Government of the Canary Islands has awarded a contract to Factoría, Gestión y Consultoría, S. L. for the implementation and operational management of the Affordable Rental Housing Exchange. The contract, managed through Visocan, is valued at 970,000 euros for an initial 24-month period, with a potential two-year extension that could bring the total estimated value to approximately 1.87 million euros.

The program aims to mobilize private housing that is currently vacant or underutilized into the affordable rental market. This initiative is designed to increase the housing supply more rapidly than new public housing construction, which often requires longer timelines and greater direct investment. The service includes studying vacant properties, creating a housing observatory, analyzing consumption data, and facilitating rental intermediation.
