Canary Islands begins contracting for 59 public homes in Arona

The Government of the Canary Islands has initiated the contracting phase for the construction of 59 protected public housing units in Arona, located in southern Tenerife. The project, managed by the Canary Islands Housing Institute (Icavi), will be situated on the Marazul plot on Astrón Street and will include 59 parking spaces. The estimated budget for this specific development is approximately 16 million euros.

This initiative is part of a larger regional plan to address high residential pressure in tourist-heavy areas. The broader project includes three lots across Arona, Guía de Isora, and Adeje, totaling 134 protected homes with a combined estimated value of nearly 30 million euros. These developments are funded through the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, utilizing Next Generation EU funds to promote social rental housing in energy-efficient buildings.
