Canary Islands flower producers promote products in China
Flower and plant producers from Gran Canaria, Tenerife, and La Palma are promoting their products in China through a commercial mission at the Dounan Flower Market in Kunming. This initiative is part of an action plan signed between Proexca and the Association of Flower and Live Plant Harvesters and Exporters of the Canary Islands (Asocan).
Specifically, producers of roses and proteas participated in the market, which is the largest fresh flower trade center in Asia and the second largest in the world. In 2024, the Dounan market recorded a transaction volume of 14,180 million stems, valued at approximately 1,500 million euros. The market serves all provincial regions in mainland China and exports to over 50 countries and regions, including Japan and Thailand.
