Aemet forecasts light rain and cooler temps for the Canary Islands
The Spanish State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) issued a forecast for Sunday indicating weak rain and drizzle across the north‑east of Tenerife and other interior areas of the Canary Islands, with generally cloudy intervals and a slight drop in temperatures. Maximum temperatures are expected to stay around 28 °C, while sea conditions will worsen in the evening as a north‑west swell generates waves up to two metres.
In the Basque Country, the regional agency Euskalmet warned of renewed rain on Sunday with a risk of brief thunderstorms, hail of 2‑4 cm and strong gusts reaching 60‑90 km/h, especially in western Bizkaia. A yellow weather warning for intense precipitation is in effect from 17:00 to midnight.
