Canary Islands host reggae festival and viral internet trend events

The Reggae Can Festival XII is expanding its reach across the Canary Islands, with its next event scheduled for Friday, August 28, in La Gomera. Held at the Plaza de Playa Santiago in Alajeró, the free concert will feature artists including Ruts & La Isla Music, Dactah Chando, The Queen of Bass, and Sistah Vibes, showcasing a blend of contemporary reggae, drum & bass, and electronic sounds.

Separately, digital culture trends are manifesting physically in the region. The 'aura farming' phenomenon—a viral trend where participants mimic memes, video game gestures, or social media poses to demonstrate charisma—recently held a pioneering event in San Cristóbal de La Laguna. Following this, additional competitions are planned for Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Vecindario on August 29.
