The Government of the Canary Islands has launched a new subsidy program providing up to 913 euros per student diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). With a total budget of 800,000 euros, the initiative aims to support families whose children have specific educational support needs but do not qualify for state aid due to having a recognized disability degree of less than 25%.
To qualify, students must have a psychopedagogical report issued by an Educational and Psychopedagogical Orientation Team (EOEP) that is no more than five school years old. Additionally, the student must have been enrolled in a public school in the Canary Islands during the 2025-2026 academic year and must have received pedagogical or language education through a specialist professional or center during that period.
The aid is designed to reimburse expenses already incurred by families during the 2025-2026 course rather than funding new treatments for the upcoming 2026-2027 term. Eligible students include those in Infant, Primary, ESO, Bachillerato, and various vocational training levels.
