Canary Islands launches employment accelerator to create 170 jobs

The Government of the Canary Islands has launched the 'Employment Accelerator,' a pilot project designed to bridge the gap between corporate hiring needs and professional training. With an investment of three million euros, the initiative aims to create up to 170 job opportunities across five strategic sectors: the blue economy, cybersecurity, the agri-food industry, water and energy, and artisanal trades.

Presented by Vice President Manuel Domínguez alongside officials Poli Suárez and Isabel León, the model reverses traditional training methods by using specific company vacancies to define the required professional profiles. This approach combines intensive training and dual vocational education to ensure candidates acquire the specialized skills necessary to integrate directly into the workforce.
