Canberra Raiders extend Ethan Sanders' contract through 2028

Canberra Raiders NRL Ethan Sanders Coby Black contract extension

The Canberra Raiders have re-signed NRL Rookie of the Year Ethan Sanders until the end of 2028. Sanders secured the extension following a breakout season where he stepped into the halfback role following the departure of Jamal Fogarty.

The move sets up a competition for the starting halfback position next season between Sanders and Coby Black. Black, a recruit from Brisbane, made a record-breaking debut in the final game of the campaign, scoring 26 points.

In related roster news, hooker Tom Starling has announced he will leave the club. Starling, who had one year remaining on his contract, indicated he would not play out the term amid rumors of a move to the English Super League club St Helens.
