Cancer awareness campaigns launched in Paraguay and Chile
Health awareness initiatives are being launched in Paraguay and Chile to promote early cancer detection and education.
In Paraguay, medical specialists and patients have introduced the “Llamada de Atención” campaign under the slogan “Escuchale a tu cuerpo” (Listen to your body). The initiative aims to encourage individuals to recognize physical warning signs and seek medical consultation without delay, noting that approximately 13,800 new cancer cases are recorded annually in the country. The campaign focuses on overcoming the fear of diagnosis that often leads to postponed medical visits.
In Punta Arenas, Chile, the Corporación Guerreros de la Vida held a community event titled “Juntos por una infancia sin cáncer: más conciencia, más esperanza” to mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. With 15 new pediatric cancer cases diagnosed annually in the city, the organization emphasized the importance of recognizing symptoms in children, as the disease can progress more rapidly in minors than in adults. The event highlighted that while childhood cancer cannot be prevented, timely detection of leukemias, lymphomas, and brain tumors is critical.
