Cancer battles: Terminal prognosis for young boy and remission for former athlete

Two separate medical cases involving cancer battles have drawn significant attention.

In one case, a young boy named Dominik from Slovakia is facing a terminal prognosis. After undergoing brain surgery in July to remove a tumor, doctors reported that the tumor tripled in size within weeks. Consequently, radiation therapy has been canceled, and medical professionals have informed his family that he likely has only one to two months to live. Former President Andrej Kiska shared the news, noting Dominik's dream of becoming a pilot.

In a contrasting development, former floorball representative Adam Choma has announced he has entered his second complete remission. After facing a severe battle with cancer that had metastasized to his spine, Choma underwent a bone marrow transplant. Dr. Jaroslav Štěrba, a pediatric oncology expert, confirmed that the disease is currently in a state of absence, though further MRI testing in Plzeň is required to ensure no residual cells remain.
