Cancer fundraisers held in UK and US
Community fundraising efforts for cancer support have taken place in both the United Kingdom and the United States.
In the UK, over 370 participants took part in the Ironbridge Titty Trail, an event organized by Lingen Davies Cancer Support. The walk, which included routes through Aberystwyth and a new location in Ironbridge, raised over £45,000. These funds contribute to the charity’s Sunflower Appeal, which aims to raise £5 million to develop a Lingen Davies Cancer Centre at Telford’s Princess Royal Hospital by 2029.
In the United States, Brown University’s football team held its 22nd annual ‘Bench Press for Cancer’ fundraiser at College Green in Providence, Rhode Island. The event, which began in 2004 to honor former team captain Lawrence Rubia, raised funds for cancer survivorship programs through Brown University Health. Participants engaged in strength challenges or donated to support local cancer patients and survivors.
