Cancer patient groups demand transparency over Incan leadership rumors
Cancer patient advocacy groups in Paraguay are calling for transparency from the Ministry of Health following rumors regarding potential leadership changes at the National Cancer Institute (Incan). The Association of Cancer Patients and Relatives (Apacfa) issued a statement emphasizing that any modification to the current director, Dr. Jabibi Noguera, must be handled with responsibility and consideration for the impact on patient care.
Apacfa seeks to safeguard institutional stability and ongoing projects. The Association of Oncology Patients of San Pablo Hospital (Jerovia Apo-HSP) has formally joined Apacfa in supporting this stance, rejecting the idea that political changes should disrupt medical processes or cause setbacks in cancer treatment. The groups highlighted that health is a constitutional right and that administrative decisions must prioritize the well-being of vulnerable citizens.
