Cancer research initiatives focus on lung cancer prevention and melanoma AI

In Spain, BSA and the Ricky Rubio Foundation have launched a collaborative initiative to address lung cancer. The partnership includes a seminar titled ‘A Shared Look at Lung Cancer’ held at the Badalona Municipal Hospital. The program focuses on prevention, healthcare processes from diagnosis to treatment, and the LungFit program, which promotes physical activity to improve the quality of life for patients.

In another cancer research development, Oncolliga Lleida has funded a 30,000 euro project to develop an artificial intelligence tool designed to predict the evolution of melanoma patients. Led by researcher Anna Macià Armengol from IRBLleida and the University of Lleida, the project aims to use existing clinical, histological, and genetic data to create a decision-support tool. This initiative seeks to enable more personalized treatments and better monitoring for skin cancer patients.
