Cancer research initiatives gain momentum through solidarity events in Spain

Various solidarity initiatives in Spain are raising funds for cancer research and patient support. In Toro, the Association Unidos Contra el Cáncer de Toro y Provincia de Zamora held its Maratón del Euro. This initiative has successfully directed 220,500 euros to various research projects, with funds being delivered directly to researchers without intermediaries. Participants also supported the cause by purchasing solidarity products such as t-shirts painted by oncology patients.

In Cantabria, the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer is organizing the ‘Santander en marcha contra el cáncer’ event on September 5. The race, which includes an 8.9 km route for both runners and walkers, aims to promote healthy lifestyles and support cancer patients. According to Nacho Quijano, manager of the Cantabria branch, all proceeds will be split between cancer research and providing free psychological support and integral care through professional services. The organization emphasized its commitment to financial transparency by conducting all registrations exclusively through an online platform.
