Cancer research symposiums convene scientists and advocates

The 16th Biennial Rivkin Ovarian Cancer Research Symposium took place in Philadelphia from October 16-18. Presented by the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA), the event brought together over 375 researchers, clinicians, and advocates. The symposium saw a significant increase in engagement, with abstract submissions rising to 233 from 140 in the previous year. Scientific sessions covered topics including immuno-oncology, drug resistance, health disparities, early detection, and new therapeutic approaches.

In Washington, D.C., the 2026 NFCR Global Summit for Cancer Research and Entrepreneurship focused on translating scientific promise into clinical progress. The summit featured keynote addresses, including a presentation by Nobel laureate Dr. Bruce Beutler. Discussions at the event emphasized the role of collaboration and the practical application of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, in cancer research and patient care.
