Cancer support initiatives address treatment access and psychological care
Efforts to support cancer patients are focusing on both systemic access to treatment and the psychological needs of survivors. In Brazil, discussions highlight the critical struggle patients face when navigating bureaucratic hurdles, such as administrative delays and authorization denials, which can delay essential medical care and increase patient anxiety.
In Spain, the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in Huelva has launched a new psychological support initiative specifically for cancer survivors. The program, titled ‘Survivors (1-5 years): group psychological care’, provides a safe environment for individuals to share experiences and manage the emotional challenges of returning to routine after medical discharge. The sessions are offered both in-person and online to facilitate participation.
