Quintana Roo municipalities implement public works and administrative reforms
The municipal governments of Benito Juárez and Tulum are implementing various administrative and infrastructure measures. In Benito Juárez, authorities are preparing to remodel the administrative detention center, known as ‘Torito’, to improve facilities and service quality. Additionally, the municipal SIPINNA has updated its protocols to strengthen the prevention of child labor by incorporating new security and commerce departments into its inter-institutional commission.
To improve urban management in Cancún, a new committee has been established to address abandoned or deteriorating properties that pose safety and health risks. Infrastructure improvements are also underway, including a 3 million peso drainage renovation by Aguakan on Avenida Cobá and Avenida Palenque, as well as road maintenance and mosquito control efforts in Supermanzanas 100 and 89.
In Tulum, municipal efforts are focused on responding to citizen reports through pothole repairs and cleaning operations in various neighborhoods, including the Centro and Palmas colonies. Meanwhile, political shifts continue in Tulum as regidor Eugenio Barbachano has officially joined the PAN party, citing concerns over corruption and economic stagnation in Quintana Roo.
