Cancún authorities investigate abandoned taxi after driver found dead

Authorities in Cancún, Quintana Roo, have launched an investigation following the discovery of an abandoned taxi and the death of its driver. The vehicle, a white Nissan V-Drive with green stripes belonging to the Sindicato de Taxistas Andrés Quintana Roo, was found on Córdoba Street in the Urbi Villas del Rey residential area.

The taxi's owner confirmed the vehicle belonged to the driver, who was found dead earlier that morning in the Paseo Kusamil area near Supermanzana 110. While the vehicle showed no immediate signs of forced entry or violence, investigators and forensic experts secured the unit for a specialized inspection to search for evidence.

Local police and the State Attorney General's Office are working to determine the cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the abandonment of the vehicle. The taxi has been moved to a storage facility for further examination.
