Cancún commuters report long delays on Route 26
Commuters using Route 26 of the Autocar service in Cancún are reporting a significant decrease in bus frequency, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours. Passengers traveling toward southern areas, such as Jardines del Sur and Avenida Cancún, face increasingly long wait times.
Reports indicate that delays can exceed one hour during midday, between 12:00 and 15:00. The situation worsens after 21:00, with some users at the Plaza Las Américas stop reporting waits of up to 90 minutes. Due to the lack of available buses, many residents are forced to use ride-hailing applications, resulting in higher personal expenses.
While drivers have indicated that the route remains operational, the service frequency appears to fluctuate based on the number of available units. The route is a vital connection for the city, passing through several key points including López Portillo, Avenida Tulum, and the IMSS Hospital in Cobá.
