Cancún hosts diverse cultural and community events
Cancún is hosting a variety of cultural and community events, including the conclusion of the Shorts México International Short Film Festival. The festival will host a free session titled ‘Cortitos’ at the Teatro 8 de Octubre on September 24, featuring short films for children that address themes of diversity, empathy, and childhood experiences, such as the animated film ‘Azulesepia’.
In the performing arts, the comedy ‘Busco al hombre de mi vida… marido ya tuve’, starring Anna Ciocchetti, Issabela Camil, and Sabine Moussier, is scheduled for September 26 at the Teatro de Cancún. Additionally, 4 Elementos Teatro is preparing a fifth season of the musical ‘Siempre vendrán tiempos mejores’ at the Centro Cultural Toltecayotl, which uses 1980s music to explore themes of second chances and identity.
On the community front, Teletón has organized the HimnoTón 2026 at Parque de las Palapas. Scheduled for September 19, the event uses collective singing to promote social inclusion and raise awareness for children and people with disabilities.
