Quintana Roo joins federal health strategy and recognizes social workers

In Quintana Roo, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa has highlighted the essential role of social workers in supporting families and vulnerable populations within the health and education sectors. This recognition coincides with National Social Worker Day in Mexico.

Additionally, Quintana Roo is set to join a new federal health strategy known as the Universal Health Service. Following a meeting with President Claudia Sheinbaum, the state government confirmed its participation in this initiative, which aims to strengthen primary care and improve medical accessibility. Details regarding the program's implementation are expected to be released by the presidency soon.

In local community efforts, the DIF Benito Juárez is expanding programs for senior citizens in Cancún. These initiatives include digital skills training through a partnership with OXXO, as well as various recreational, cultural, and nutritional programs designed to promote active aging and social inclusion for the elderly.
