Mexico infrastructure: Cancún highway and Baja California power line projects advance

The modernization of the Cancún–Isla Blanca highway has reached approximately 30 percent completion in its first stage. This project involves expanding a 4.2-kilometer stretch from two to four lanes and includes the construction of a central median, sidewalks, a bike path, public lighting, and new hydraulic infrastructure. The investment for this initial phase is 380.9 million pesos, aimed at improving mobility for tourists and workers traveling between Cancún, Costa Mujeres, and Isla Mujeres.

In Baja California, the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) has completed and energized the Wisteria 93930–Herradura transmission line. This 135-kilometer, 230 kV line connects Mexicali and Tecate, benefiting over 1.2 million residents. Described as one of the region's most significant transmission projects in 30 years, the work involved 429 steel structures and approximately 1,500 workers. The project is intended to strengthen the electrical supply and support the economic dynamism of northwest Mexico.
