Mexico infrastructure projects see significant investment and progress

Infrastructure projects across Mexico are seeing significant progress and investment. In Cancún, the Kukulcán road interchange, a strategic project to improve mobility in the hotel zone and connect with the Nichupté Bridge, has reached approximately 70 percent completion. The project involves an investment exceeding 500 million pesos and spans 1.92 kilometers. While officials initially aimed for an October completion, current estimates suggest the work could conclude in December 2026, or potentially January 2027 if weather conditions cause delays.

In Tamaulipas, the state government reports a cumulative public works investment exceeding 21 billion pesos over the last four years, with projections to reach 28 billion pesos by the end of 2026. Key efforts include rehabilitating the Tampico Bridge with a 90 million peso investment to renew 5.2 kilometers of roadway, and the commencement of the Jiménez Wellness Center. Additionally, the state is working on the Mante-Ocampo-Tula highway to improve connectivity between southern Tamaulipas and the central regions of the country.

Other regional developments include the commissioning of a new 95-meter modular Acrow bridge in Londres de Quepos, Costa Rica, which cost 470 million colones and serves over 5,000 people. In Monterrey, Mayor Adrián de la Garza Santos reported over 2.3 billion pesos in public investment during his second administration, focusing on security, mobility, and the 'Regio Ruta' public transport system.
