Cancún launches waste removal campaign to prevent dengue
The Benito Juárez Municipality has launched a waste removal campaign in Cancún to prevent the spread of dengue fever. The initiative aims to eliminate potential mosquito breeding sites by collecting bulky items and discarded objects that collect water.
Scheduled from August 24 to August 29, the operation will be carried out by crews from the General Directorate of Municipal Public Services. The collection will take place in two specific areas: Supermanzana 99 from Monday, August 24, to Wednesday, August 26, and Supermanzana 30 from Thursday, August 27, to Saturday, August 29.
Local authorities have requested that residents place items such as old tires, furniture, broken appliances, and unused containers on the sidewalk in advance. Officials emphasized that community cooperation is essential for the success of the public health measure.
