The Cancún Municipal Theater Company is launching a new production titled ‘La mecánica de los sueños’ (The Mechanics of Dreams) at the Teatro de la Ciudad. The premiere is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, at 1:00 PM, with free admission for the public.

Directed by Saúl Enríquez, the play is a fantasy comedy featuring pirates, ghosts, and singing seals. It is designed with a pedagogical approach to engage children and youth by breaking the ‘fourth wall’ and involving the audience in the creative process. The production was conceptualized by set designer Félix Arroyo and lighting designer Matías Borlero.

The play will run every Sunday at 1:00 PM through January 2027. To manage attendance, free tickets will be distributed at the venue's box office two hours before each performance, with a limit of two tickets per person while supplies last. This project marks the company's ninth production and its second specifically tailored for younger audiences.
