Cancún opens permit applications for Day of the Dead vendors

Authorities in Cancún have opened the application process for temporary permits to sell products related to Day of the Dead and Hanal Pixán. The permits are valid for 30 days and apply to both seasonal itinerant vendors and established market stallholders looking to expand their sales to public sidewalks.

Last year, approximately 12 permits were issued to itinerant cempasúchil flower vendors, many of whom originate from the states of Mexico, Puebla, and Hidalgo. Officials expect similar numbers this year as demand increases in mid-October. Additionally, around 22 permits are anticipated for public market vendors to display goods outside their stalls, and roughly 10 permits are expected for established businesses to occupy public space in front of their locations.
