Cancún police arrest two men for robbing victims of fatal accident
Two men, identified as Jessy Vear “N” and Pedro “N”, have been detained for the alleged robbery of personal belongings from victims of a fatal traffic accident in Cancún. The accident occurred on August 14 at kilometer 18.5 of Boulevard Kukulcán in the Hotel Zone, resulting in the deaths of Jonathan Succar Pita, son of Jean Succar Kuri, and a second individual identified as J. D. R. R.
Investigations by the Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office indicate that a taxi was following the victims' Cadillac Escalade prior to the crash. Authorities allege that the two men exited the taxi following the accident to steal high-end jewelry and watches from the deceased.
During the arrests, investigators seized several items believed to belong to the victims, including two gold chains with charms, two high-end watches, a gold ring, a silver coin, and a gold bracelet. The suspects are currently in preventive detention awaiting a judicial determination of their legal status.
