Cancún mototaxi robbery attempt leads to chase and arrest

An attempted robbery of a mototaxi driver in the Supermanzana 221 area of Cancún resulted in a high-speed chase and the arrest of a suspect. The incident began on Avenue 20 de Noviembre, where a couple traveling in another mototaxi allegedly attempted to steal the victim's vehicle.

After a physical struggle, the victim managed to exit the vehicle and seek assistance from colleagues. The suspects fled, leading to a pursuit by several other mototaxi drivers. The chase ended on Calle 107 when the suspects lost control and crashed into a parked truck. One suspect fled into a primary school and barricaded himself inside until municipal police arrived to take him into custody. The victim identified the man as one of the attempted robbers. The suspect was treated by Red Cross paramedics for injuries sustained in the crash before being transferred to a general hospital under police guard.
