Cancún updates municipal development plan and mobility strategy

The Municipality of Benito Juárez has approved an update to its Municipal Development Plan (PMD) for 2024-2027. Following public consultation forums involving 436 participants, the Committee for Planning for the Development of the Municipality (COPLADEMUN) unanimously approved the proposal to streamline management indicators from 364 to 32 impact-generating metrics. The updated plan focuses on circular economy, care systems, and anti-corruption.

Additionally, Mayor Ana Paty Peralta announced plans to create a new municipal department dedicated to strengthening active mobility and micromobility in Cancún. This new administrative area aims to manage alternative transport options, such as bicycles, and improve municipal attention to mobility issues. Specific details regarding the department's name, budget, and structure are expected to be released soon.
