Cancom SE reports declining revenue despite increased profitability

Cancom SE reported mixed financial results for the first half of 2026, leading to a decline in its share price. While the IT service provider saw a 3.5 percent drop in revenue to 775.9 million euros, its profitability improved significantly due to cost-cutting measures and efficiency initiatives.

CEO Rüdiger Rath attributed the revenue decline to delayed investment decisions by customers, particularly in the international segment. Despite the lower turnover, the company’s EBITDA rose by 34 percent to 49.2 million euros, and net profit increased to 11.2 million euros from 2.76 million euros in the previous year. The German domestic market remained relatively stable.

Analysts have noted a contrast between Cancom and its competitor, Bechtle, which has seen more robust demand. While Cancom confirmed its full-year guidance, market participants expressed caution regarding whether the company can meet its ambitious annual targets given the current slowdown in customer spending.
