Cancun, Mérida and Mendoza host free weekend cultural programs
Mexico’s tourist cities Cancun and Mérida are offering a slate of free and low‑cost cultural activities over the weekend, including concerts, theater productions, dance workshops, videomapping, and family‑friendly events at venues such as Teatro de la Ciudad, Centro Cultural Mérida Olimpo and local outdoor spaces.
In Argentina’s Mendoza province, the Subsecretaría de Cultura and the municipality of Godoy Cruz have scheduled free events for the long weekend, featuring visual‑arts exhibitions, a large “Peña de la Independencia” folk celebration with live music, dance and food stalls at Espacio Verde Luis Menotti Pescarmona, a literary presentation, and multiple art installations at the Espacio Contemporáneo de Arte.
Both programs emphasize community participation, free admission and a mix of traditional and contemporary arts aimed at residents and visitors alike.
