Cancun officials promote formal channels for citizen service complaints
The municipal government of Benito Juárez in Cancun launched the “Chat Cun” platform, a 24‑hour digital service reachable via WhatsApp (998 778 4500) that records and follows up citizen reports, requests for permits, and general information. The service, overseen by María Fagni Gallegos Cruz and promoted by Landy Guadalupe Canché Pantoja, also provides face‑to‑face assistance at its Avenida Tulum office and includes a playroom for children.
Water utility Aguakan, serving Cancun and surrounding municipalities, issued a public statement after a protest outside its Yaxchilán customer‑service centre. The company urged residents to submit complaints through its official channels rather than public demonstrations, stressing that access to water and sanitation should remain free of political or electoral influences. Aguakan reiterated its commitment to dialogue, transparency, and timely resolution of service issues.
