CANDY TUNE opens KITTE summer event with 4.5 m giant shaved‑ice sculpture
Japanese idol group CANDY TUNE performed at the opening ceremony of the "ひんやりKITTE" summer event on 6 August at KITTE, the shopping complex in front of Tokyo Station. The stage featured a 4.5‑metre tall shaved‑ice (kakigōri) sculpture in strawberry, melon and blue‑Hawaiian flavours, illuminated by a light‑show that changed in sync with the group’s performance of their song "倍倍FIGHT!". Members expressed excitement about the cooling effect and encouraged fans to beat the summer heat together.
The event, running from 7 to 31 August, includes daily light‑up shows at 10‑minute intervals, a mini‑ice‑skating rink, and a sweets fair offering pudding and gelato. CANDY TUNE also announced a nationwide tour of 23 cities beginning at the end of August, aiming to double their usual number of performances.
