Canela reports extensive damage following severe hailstorm

A severe hailstorm in Canela caused significant property damage on Friday night. Preliminary reports from the Civil Defense indicate 271 service calls, primarily involving perforated roofs, broken tiles, and water infiltration in homes. While initial reports focused on 120 families, unofficial estimates suggest the number of affected houses could reach 500.

Emergency teams, including firefighters and Civil Defense, distributed tarps to over 126 families during the night to protect their residences. No injuries or displaced persons were reported in the initial assessment.
