Canelo Alvarez faces challenge from Jermall Charlo and upcoming bout with Christian Mbilli

Super middleweight boxer Jermall Charlo has issued a public challenge to undisputed champion Canelo Alvarez. Charlo stated his intention to avenge his brother Jermell Charlo, who lost a unanimous decision to Alvarez in September 2023.

Alvarez is currently preparing for a scheduled bout against Christian Mbilli on October 31st in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Mbilli holds the WBC super-middleweight title following the vacation of belts after Terence Crawford’s retirement. Former sparring partner Yoenli Hernandez expressed confidence that Alvarez will defeat Mbilli to reclaim his position in the 168-pound division.

Alvarez faces increasing pressure from multiple contenders, including Charlo and long-standing rival David Benavidez, as he seeks to regain his championship status.
