Canelo Alvarez to face Christian Mbilli in Saudi Arabia

Mexican boxer Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez has confirmed his intention to fight Christian Mbilli for the WBC super middleweight championship on October 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Despite regional security concerns and warnings from the United States and United Kingdom regarding tensions in the Middle East, Álvarez stated he remains focused on his training and the goal of reclaiming the title.

Álvarez noted that he remains in communication with promoter Turki Alalshikh, who has provided assurances that the event will proceed as planned. Mbilli, whose team is already arriving in Saudi Arabia, has vowed to win the bout via knockout to defend his title for Montreal and Quebec.
