Canelones celebrates indigenous heritage during Heritage Weekend

Canelones, Uruguay, will host Heritage Weekend on October 3 and 4, centered on the theme “Indigenous roots: past, present, and future.” Organized by the Departmental Intendancy through its Heritage Directorate, the event aims to foster integration and deepen public understanding of indigenous roots.

Activities will be held across various locations in the department, including Canelones Capital, Atlántida, Pando, and Las Piedras. The program features guided tours of historic buildings, artistic performances, photographic exhibitions, thematic talks, gastronomic fairs, and recreational proposals. The Museo Taddei will serve as a key site for exploring approximately 30,000 years of prehistory.
