Cangas City Council approves credit supplement for public works

The Cangas City Council has approved a credit supplement following a contentious plenary session. The measure, which received support from the Popular Party (PP) and abstention from Alternativa dos Veciños (AV), will allow the local government to invest over one million euros in previously announced public works, most notably improving access to the Cangas Health Center.

The approval followed a period of political tension. Victoria Portas, the sole councilor from AV, proposed an amendment intended to halt the process, citing legal and procedural concerns. The move was characterized by political opponents as an attempt to obstruct the government despite AV's previous role in the administration's investiture.
