Cangas de Onís completes flood prevention works on Cuencu stream

The Cangas de Onís City Council has completed infrastructure improvements on the Cuencu stream in the La Granda de Margolles area to prevent flooding. The project, which cost 16,000 euros, involved cleaning the riverbed, clearing vegetation, and adjusting water levels.

These works aim to resolve recurring flooding issues that have historically affected local homes and a hospitality establishment during periods of heavy rain. The intervention was carried out in coordination with affected residents and is part of a broader municipal plan to improve rural infrastructure and maintenance.
