Cangas environmental authorities issue dozens of fines for illegal parking in protected dunes
Environmental authorities in Cangas, Spain, have issued approximately fifty fines this summer due to improper parking within Red Natura 2000 protected areas. The infractions specifically involve vehicles driving onto or parking on the dunes of Nerga and Viñó, as well as invading restricted roads within the protected zones.
Local officials have noted that the situation is worsening, with many drivers ignoring warning signs. Fines for these violations start at 200 euros for minor offenses and increase significantly for serious or very serious infractions. Residents in the Aldán area have also expressed concern regarding traffic congestion and illegal parking at Areacova beach, citing potential safety risks for emergency services.
