Caniçal: CDS-PP Machico calls for investment on town anniversary

To mark the 32nd anniversary of Caniçal's elevation to a town, the CDS-PP Machico party has called for increased investment and concrete measures to support the parish. Roberto Silva, vice-president of CDS-PP Machico, emphasized the need to preserve the area's unique identity and history while addressing modern challenges.

Key priorities identified include the improvement of public spaces, waterfronts, and bathing areas, as well as the creation of more leisure spaces for families. Silva also highlighted the importance of the fishing industry, advocating for better conditions for fishermen and the preservation of maritime traditions.

Additionally, the party stressed the importance of housing and creating opportunities to encourage young people to remain in the parish. Concerns were also raised regarding drug prevention and the need for enhanced security and support for the youth.
