Canicattì Mayor calls for emergency water tanker plan

Vincenzo Corbo, the mayor of Canicattì, has called for an immediate emergency plan to manage water distribution via tanker trucks. This request comes as the current interim contract for water supply via tankers is set to expire on November 9.

Corbo is urging provincial and regional authorities to convene an urgent meeting of the ATI Assembly and a new technical-institutional table to prevent a service paralysis. He expressed concern over the silence of managing entities regarding future operational models and contractual guarantees for transporters. The mayor aims to avoid the severe social tensions and supply blockages experienced in May, when insufficient resources led to a total halt in water distribution.
